Born in the USSR, he started his spiritual practice in the 80-s still behind the iron curtain. He studied with and translated for many teachers of different contemplative traditions the most important of them being Chogyal Namkhai Norbu, a renowned Dzogchen master who he met in 1996.&nbsp;Chogyal Namkhai Norbu authorized Igor to teach the Base of Santi Maha Sangha, a study and practice program on Sutra, Tantra, and Dzogchen designed by Chogyal Namkhai Norbu. Igor was authorized as a 1st level teacher in 2005, and as a 2nd level teacher in 2008, and he is currently the only active 2nd level teacher of the Dzogchen Community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Igor Berkhin&nbsp;is a long term Dzogchen practitioner.
